why this revolution is important

Our current way of life is not sustainable. We are depleting the Earth’s resources, destroying countless ecosystems and unnecessarily destroying our Planet.

There are many things we do not know about the future, but one thing we do know, is that business as usual will not continue as is for much longer. Massive change is inevitable!

We know from our analysis of global warming, from the accelerating deterioration of the economy’s ecological supports, and from our projections of future resource use that the western fossil-fuel-based, throwaway economy will not last.

The Earth is reaching closer to an ecological tipping point and if we move beyond that, catastrophe becomes a certainty!

We don’t want to reach this point because once we do, there’s no going back.

If we don’t take massive action now, the melting of the Himalayan Glaciers, Greenland, and Western Antarctic’s ice sheets could become irreversible.

We could see a coming twenty-three foot rise in sea levels and a rise in temperatures that would send our entire planet into a tail-spin of epic destruction involving extreme weather, floods, droughts, hurricanes, epidemics and killer heat waves with increasing frequency, greater intensity and beyond anything we have ever experienced.

We are dealing with an immense level of urgency and the protection of our environment is a serious issue we can no longer afford to ignore.

The only way to have a global economy that can sustain economic progress, is to develop one that is powered by renewable energy, that lives in harmony with nature and that doesn’t depend on environmental destruction for its growth.

We need to act NOW because there’s simply not enough time for years of negotiations and waiting for our leaders to solve our problems for us, as the consequences of inaction in the face of our global crisis are enormous!!

That’s why this revolution was born; to unite humanity, to implement the solutions that already exist and to make this world work for everyone.

Through individuals and a grassroots movement, our communities, our countries and indeed the world ARE capable of restructuring the economy quickly enough to heal our Earth and solve all of our collective problems.

Our society’s growth doesn’t need to be of purely opportunistic design. The design of products, systems and business doesn’t have to yield a host of unintended and tragic consequences!!

If we are going to carry on growing, and we will, because no country is going to forfeit its right to economic growth, we have to find a way of doing it sustainably. This is easily achievable by changing over from being dependent on the Earths finite resources to it’s immense abundance of infinite ones.

Our worldwide problems are currently in the hands of the countries we live in and while our leaders try to make the best choices, there are just too many issues for them to effectively handle. The vast complexities of our problems need to be dealt with individually and from a grass roots level. It’s the only way we are to solve them.

Each one of us has strengths and talents and if we simply follow what we are passionate about, we will complement each other and will be able to achieve SO much.

There is power when we unite and speak with our dollars and actions. Don’t ever think your life and choices don’t impact the world.

There is no doubt that we can solve ALL of our collective problems! In fact, we have a moral obligation to do so. Small changes can add up to big differences and will impact the planet in incredible ways.

The time to come together to solve our problems is NOW - JOIN US, TAKE ACTION and become part of the solution!!

The issue of climate change is one that we ignore at our own peril. There may still be disputes about exactly how much we’re contributing to the warming of the earth’s atmosphere and how much is naturally occurring, but what we can be scientifically certain of is that our continued use of fossil fuels is pushing us to a point of no return. And unless we free ourselves from a dependence on these fossil fuels and chart a new course on energy in this country, we are condemning future generations to global catastrophe. - Barack Obama

I do believe that it is extremely important that each one of us is a participant in life and what’s going on around us rather than being a spectator to it and if you do that, if you participate in the world, in your community, your school, your company, or your country, whatever…. then you will be useful and hopefully leave the planet a little better. - Janet Holmes a Court

Help us to protect the beautiful Earth we live on. There is SO MUCH each of us can do!!!
